k-hawinkler Posted June 7, 2014 Share #21 Posted June 7, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Why I use the USB port on the M8 & 9. Put the card in the camera and leave it there. 99% will not like this, but so be it. That's what I do with all my cameras!

Rick Posted June 7, 2014 Share #22 Posted June 7, 2014 This has happened to all of us at one time or another. The worst thing you can do is worry about it.
tobey bilek Posted June 12, 2014 Share #23 Posted June 12, 2014 Secure digital cards are anything but secure. I had a one split where the lock slides and I never use the lock. Maybe defective, maybe I put in in crooked. I am really careful now how the insertion goes.
Hookeye Posted June 12, 2014 Share #24 Posted June 12, 2014 I think they may split if overfilled. I change to a new card when at 60% full.
pico Posted June 12, 2014 Share #25 Posted June 12, 2014 I think they may split if overfilled. I change to a new card when at 60% full. Yer right! I had to move my almost full terabyte hard drive and could hardly lift it! But the new unused drive weighed almost nothing. Also, I find secure cards too complacent, smug. I prefer the insecure cards. They know what happens if they mess over me. .

Wow. I am glad you got sorted out. But replacing the circuit board because of a stuck SD card is a surprising move. It makes me curious as to what may have been wring with it in the first place. You can't get the photos off the M-240 unless you buy and use the MF Grip or remove the card.

Replace circuit board? I just wonder, does that mean that the SD card socket eject mechanism was bust, and ithe socket was irremovably fixed to the PCB
