AnakChan Posted May 27, 2014 Share #1 Posted May 27, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I'm curious if anyone has any recommendations of soft releases that are thread compatible tothe M240? I tried the Match Technical bugs which were fine with my M9 but not on the M240 and saw the thread (no pun intended) that the M240 uses a different thread pitch - but that was talk about compatible cable releases rather than soft releases. Has anyone found a soft release that's thread pitch compatible to the M240? TIA

lanetomlane Posted May 28, 2014 Share #4 Posted May 28, 2014 http://hrr-manufaktur.de/shop/ These ones are designed for the new thread of the M240 / MM, but fit the older models, too. Thanks for this information, just ordered two (1 spare). The Soft Releases I had before kept coming unscrewed on my M so I hope these will do the trick. Cheers, Tom

erudolph Posted May 28, 2014 Share #6 Posted May 28, 2014 Match Technical has a new version of their soft releases. The new ones have a rubber gasket on the stem, to help prevent loosening. The short stem version for the MMs and M240s is supposed to be arriving today.

erudolph Posted May 30, 2014 Share #8 Posted May 30, 2014 Hi Anak, I didn't see any images on the Match Technical website for the releases with the gasket, but if you go to the Popflash website and search out Match Technical, you will see many versions of the O-L release. I believe the ones for the 240 would be similar, but with the shorter stem.
hoppyman Posted May 31, 2014 Share #9 Posted May 31, 2014 Tom Abrahamsson of Rapidwinder.com in Canda produces a couple of versions (normal and mini) in different colours. I got mine directly from Tom and they fit perfectly. There is a list of dealers who carry them on his website too.

erudolph Posted June 16, 2014 Share #12 Posted June 16, 2014 I am really enjoying the new short-stemmed soft releases from Match Technical. They have a rubber flange to help keep the release from unscrewing, though Tim warns that it's still possible for them to loosen from friction against the side of the bag, etc. And they have some sort of rubberized coating that I like the feel of.
