Guest Nick932 Posted May 21, 2014 Share #1 Posted May 21, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just bought an M240 and I am trying to find out if the camera was new or not. I have no concrete reason to believe that the camera was used. As a minor issue it seems that the protective film on the LCD seems that has a couple bubbles. Has anyone figured out how to get the shutter count? Any help will be highly appreciated.
Advertisement Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Hi Guest Nick932, Take a look here M240 shutter count. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
250swb Posted May 21, 2014 Share #2 Posted May 21, 2014 Even if it was possible as we know with the M9 the shutter count is never even close to zero because the camera's go through quality control so can have up to 250 actuations or more, depending on what they have been tested for. If you bought it from a dealer as new I'd assume it was new. Steve
Guest Nick932 Posted May 22, 2014 Share #3 Posted May 22, 2014 FYI: Good or Bad, Leica informed me that the shutter count can be read from the camera connected to their service system at Germany.
jaapv Posted May 22, 2014 Share #4 Posted May 22, 2014 It is quite a lot simpler: just read out the unique image number in EXIF (HEX).
250swb Posted May 22, 2014 Share #5 Posted May 22, 2014 I didn't think the hexadecimal number system worked with the M240? It doesn't seem to work with mine. Steve
