jdsheepdog Posted May 24, 2014 Share #27 Posted May 24, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) But whereabouts in Sydney. It is so bloody big and confused now. I am not sure I would advise that a dozen or so people walking around Kings Cross with expensive cameras hung all over them is a good idea. I grew up in Double Bay, and I hardly know how to get there now. If we were to pick a venue or venues in Sydney, my first thought would be to start in the city and catch the ferry to Watsons Bay and back. Any other suggestions? I almost sounds like a breakfast start and a dinner time ending with the ammount of ground that could be covered.

MarkP Posted May 24, 2014 Share #29 Posted May 24, 2014 Darlinghurst/Kings Cross/Potts Point/Rushcutters Bay area (very small area combined) would all be good - grungy and interesting areas and people and only 5-10 min walk from the centre of the city. Quite safe - I'm often out there with my Leica. I work at St Vincent's Hospital in Darlinghurst. Bondi Beach area and neighbouring costal walks are very good also. Newtown or Glebe. Personally I'd suggest Darlinghurst/Kings-X area or Bondi Beach area. Excellent and suitable cafes/restaurants in both areas (esp. the former). I also grew up in Double Bay which is only 10min from Darlighurst but it's a boring area for photography.
jdsheepdog Posted May 24, 2014 Share #30 Posted May 24, 2014 Curious as to how you get from Double Bay to Darlinghurst in 10 minutes, even at 2.00 in the morning in a Lamborghini My wife says, "He takes a train." It has been a long time since I left Wallaroy Crescent!

It has been a long time since I left Wallaroy Crescent! It has been a long time: Double Bay to Darlighurst ≤3km. 5 min in a Skoda in peak hour! Wallaroy Crescent (very nice palce to grow up) is technically in Woollahra (next to Double Bay) You really DO need to come back to Sydney

baci Posted June 4, 2014 Share #33 Posted June 4, 2014 Saw this on Steve Huff's site this morning: Daily Inspiration #599 By Sidney Lien | STEVE HUFF PHOTOS Looks like that window down the alley way - the one with the chef working in it - is quite a popular place for photographers! Looking forward to next time. Michael
