A very interesting outcome to our first Melbourne Leica Challenge!

Two new members share the podium, occupying 1st and 3rd places.

Eileen Belmuda (EllieBelle) took out 1st place with her entry "Ladies In Waiting", image # 1. Her decision to enter was a last minute I believe, choosing to borrow her husbands camera over lunch IIRC!

Harry Matthews (hmmg) took our 3rd place with his entry "No title", image # 5. Harry is also my 16 year old grandson. I take full credit (of course ;) ) for his success since he used my M9 with a 50mm Summicron.

Oh, 2nd place went to John Amiet (erl) who was left using a borrowed MM (from my dentist!) shooting "Look At Me!" image # 8.

Congratulations to Eileen and 'Hazza' (Harry) for great performances, and of course I was just having fun. Clearly the rest of the participants had a great time as well, thank you all for making our inaugural event so much fun.

Thanks to all the forum members who took the trouble to vote as this also makes our event a success.

Curiously, three of us shot the same scenario, two of which were entered in the competition. I also shot the 'chef in the window' but did not enter it. Shortly I will start up a thread of 'outtakes' for all the fun images I know were taken and not submitted.

Following are the three winning images for viewing again.

1st, Ladies In Waiting

I just want to say a big THANK YOU to all the Members who participated in and voted for the entries in the Inaugural Melbourne Challenge.

I really enjoyed meeting up with such a lovely bunch of people and the challenge itself was a lot of fun, it certainly put a kick in my Saturday!

I hope its the first of many more, it would be lovely to do it all again.

Also, congratulations to John and Harry whose entries were voted 2nd & 3rd -

Oh! and "The Ladies" are very honoured and greatly appreciate being voted No1 !

My sincerest congrats to all the winners of the challenge and also to everyone who made the effort to travel to Melbourne for the day.

I was sorry to have missed the meet, perhaps as a venue for the next gathering our nation's capital (aka Canberra) could be considered,

being, as it is, a delightful country town (but with all mod cons) conveniently located midway between Melbourne and Sydney, very scenic

and of course boasting virtually non-stop air services to and from.

:) erl's dedication to the running of this comp. has been amazing, he deserves a big thanks!

Would it be possible to know the names of the other photographers and their photos for interest's sake?

Much appreciate your effort,

Thanks again Erl (John)

John, apologies for the delay in preparing the following list but most of yesterday was spent fixing some plumbing round the house.

Much appreciated Erl, and thanks again for your efforts in making this run as smoothly as it has. I am sure there has been a lot of work on your part to put all of this up.:):)
