larsv Posted April 29, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 29, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just got my M back from Wetzlar/Solms. Had a sticky shutter release button. Very much to my surprise and delight: no start up time noticeable! Tried different cards, no difference. I'm a happy camper.

Rick Posted April 29, 2014 Share #4 Posted April 29, 2014 Have you checked to see if the little red LED on the back is working? Maybe, Leica Repair forgot to reconnect it.
lct Posted April 30, 2014 Share #5 Posted April 30, 2014 ...no start up time noticeable! Tried different cards, no difference... Stupid questions: - What do you mean by noticeable? My fastest result on very small (1 or 2GB) SD cards is one second so far (http://tinyurl.com/kp8qe83). - Have you checked if the sleeping mode (Auto Power Off) is disabled? tookaphotoof Posted April 30, 2014 Share #6 Posted April 30, 2014 Curious what cards you use. After some reading on this forum I ordered the 64GB Sandisk with 95mb/s. Turned out the camera has a noticeable lag starting up, whilst with a slower 32GB card it's on instantly.
lct Posted April 30, 2014 Share #7 Posted April 30, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) There is no such thing as instantaneous startup times in my experience, at least with the M240. Your Sandisk card is one of the fastest ones on the M240. See my link above. Did you try to format your sample with SD Formatter?
tookaphotoof Posted April 30, 2014 Share #8 Posted April 30, 2014 Well, instantaneous in Leica terms I'd say about one second. The new card is noticeably slower. Might have to do with its size. Just opened your file (thanks for posting that up). I've read 1.7 seconds which is probably about right at the moment.
bephoto Posted May 3, 2014 Share #9 Posted May 3, 2014 mine starts up in 1 second. if I turn the camera on and hold shutter button it exactly captures in 1 sec after flipping the power switch. it was like this since I updated firmware to 2.0.0.12. I use Lexar 64GB 600X, I got mine Oct 2013.
lct Posted May 3, 2014 Share #10 Posted May 3, 2014 May i ask if you've measured your startup time the way suggested in the link here? http://tinyurl.com/kp8qe83
bephoto Posted May 3, 2014 Share #11 Posted May 3, 2014 nice link man thanks I did it with the online stopwatch gave me 1sec .455 i usually format in cam but occasionally on sd formatter. this time was in camera.
lct Posted May 3, 2014 Share #12 Posted May 3, 2014 If you did it once i've got results like that with some of my 95 MB/s cards as well but if your figure is an average of three or more measures your combo is one of the fastest if not the fastest i've ever seen so far.
