steveBK Posted April 23, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 23, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I can take photos in "Advanced" metering mode, or in LV mode. However, traditional shooting in Classic metering mode, the meter readings are crazy, shutter won't fire when release is pushed, and it makes this terrible noise... Make sure you have your volume turned on.. Tried removing the battery for a few seconds... did not correct. Anyone seen/heard this before? Didn't come across it in my searches. Any ideas what is wrong (well something with the TTL light sensor I suppose)?
Advertisement Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Hi steveBK, Take a look here M240 Issue - Cannot take photo in Classic meter mode / makes rattling noise. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

maxsimkammerer Posted April 24, 2014 Share #3 Posted April 24, 2014 I had exactly the same problem. All other functions which are related to classic metering - as like sensor cleaning- were not working too. Schmid Marketing in Beijing told me, that they had this m240-CM-problem with several customers/cameras. So I sent the camera back to Germany and waited >1Month ... Sorry to say that ... steveBK Posted April 24, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted April 24, 2014 Thanks for the info! Mine is on its way to NJ shortly.. A shame such poor timing, now that the weather is great and sun is out late. Looks like its going to be a emulsion-based spring for me. I had exactly the same problem.
