For my style of shooting I prefer the 35 FLE 1.4...

Interesting read an the first two shots where interesting.

The 35 ASPH at 1.4 and the 35 FLE at 1.4

I appears the 35FLE has a slightly closer focusing distance or the background isolation is better. Also felt it was noticeably sharper.

Nice write up. I find it hard to justify a second 35mm lens without picking up a 50 but the 35 cron ASPH has a nice calling.

The 35mm Summarit-M is often forgotten about, but a tremendous performer. Most consistently great bokeh IMO of any Leica 35mm lenses, no focus shift or serious curvature and well made. My only complaint - a common one - is that focus is a bit too light. If I need speed, I have the CV 35 1.2II which gives even the FLE a run for its money at wider apertures and produces far nicer bokeh. It only downside is that its a tank.

I sold the MATE, the Summicron asph and the Summaron.

The FLE stays on the M9, the 'cron V4 on the MP, the 'cron V1 on the M2, the pre-asph 'lux on the M4 and the 'cron 40 on the CL…...

Wow... I like simplicity to many options to choose from is a bad thing.

Would love to hear your thought process just before you go out for a shoot.... Now, which camera do I take? Dam, this one has no film in it.
