Hank Taylor Posted April 16, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 16, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Model year 1955 saw the Caribbean line, now with V8 engine, fully adopt the Senior Packard line styling; the car was also available in two or three-tone paint patterns. Designer Richard Teague succeeded in restyling the old Packard Senior body into a sensational, modern-looking design. The single hood scoop was split into two units. The car also received Packard's torsion level suspension. Production for 1955 stood at 500 units. My father sold Packards in the 50's and as a young HS student enjoyed the pleasures of sneaking this sleek convertible out on a warm night with a hot date. I also own a 39 Packard that 5 friends and I took on a summer trip up to Ely Minn. from my home in Chicago.. 1952 had a ball.
