Fuji officially stated that the XPro2 will not be released any time soon because they're waiting for a technological/technical breakthrough and not to expect one until 2015. Of course the "breakthrough" can refer to any number of things (organic, curved sensors, etc.).

Less than perfectly, O.K.? with Leica M mount lenses because of corner smearing.

Only from 75mm upwards there were no problems, ...

Sorry, but that is utter nonsense! Please, excuse my frank words.

M-mount lenses work well on the Fuji X-series cams. Perhaps not as well as the original Fuji lenses, but sufficiently well for most purposes - and print sizes.

I can't remember that I have ever looked at a 45cm x 30cm print from a 10cm distance, because that is what looking at images at 100% on your computer screen is like.

That "severe corner smearing" is nothing but a myth born of copied "reports" by someone who probably had a faulty lens.

... according to trustworthy contributors in the German Systemkamera Forum.

Have you tried M-lenses on Fuji cams yourself?

Of course, at 100% size you will see some deterioration of image quality in the far corners. But nothing that is as annoying as those "tests" imply.

I do own an X-E1 and an X-T1 and I have used those M39 & M-mount lenses on them:

- Voigtländer Heliar 4.5/15

- Voigtländer Ultron 2.8/28

- Komura 2.8/35

- Leica Noctilux 0.95/50

- Voigtländer Heliar 2.5/75

- Leica Tele-Elmarit-M 2.8/90

- Leica TriElmar 4/28-35-50

NONE of those lenses was unusable! ALL of them performed pretty well with the X-Trans sensor - even the wide-angles.

But I am willing to believe that there might be problems with a "fullframe" Fuji.

Actually, I don't think that such a cam would be a good a idea. It would just be surrendering to the hype.

(And since I believe that this might start a parallel line in this thread, I hereby promise that I will not react to direct - and perhaps even insulting - responses to my post in order to avoid an off-topic discussion. Everything I needed to say is said. If in doubt, please read again before omitting some of my sentences. Thank you.)

Indeed. Flat FF sensor on a thin body poses problems for wide and unltra wide angle lenses : as seen in Sony A7/R.

Hence Sony have patented / are producing curved FF sensor.

Fuji in partnership with Sony should avail of this curved FF sensor.

The Montague and the Capulets would have produced great grand-children.

Or do you foresee market consolidation there?

Fuji’s X-Trans sensors are manufactured by Sony and are based on standard Sony designs. Anyway, I don’t quite see a curved sensor in a system camera with interchangable lenses. There may be uses in camera units with a fixed lens and a curvature of field that is precisely matched by the curved sensor.

I think you're right, I think the rumours are just wishful thinking and I doubt very much Fuji will release a FF interchangeable lens camera.

POSSIBLY a FF X100 - but even then its unlikely. Whats the benefit to Fuji?

The most interesting rumour is the one which says they are making a digital MF rangefinder using the 50 Mp Sony sensor and body of the Fuji/CV medium format film camera. Given how they have marketed X trans it makes no sense at all for them to go full frame but a reasonable price compact medium format RF camera would be something really unique and special in todays world.

At this time I do use Fuji's full frame sensor, it's called Provia 100F film, and must say I am very happy with it, however as I do own both the Leica M240 and the Fuji X-T1 I must say I do like the X-T1 very much, but going by some of my results between these two fine cameras I still think that the X-T1 is not in the same class as the M240 for image quality.

Two images straight out of these two cameras, I was just playing around with my new toy (M240)

And must say very impressed with the M240.

Ken.
