stump4545 Posted March 28, 2014 Share #1 Posted March 28, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) just had my MM perfectly aligned. what kind of physical force can throw off my alignment? normal use, or would I have to drop my MM for my alignment to go out of whack? thank you. Advertisement Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Hi stump4545, Take a look here Rangefinder alignment. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
chrism Posted March 28, 2014 Share #2 Posted March 28, 2014 Normal use shouldn't be a problem, but sudden jolts such as dropping it or it being tossed around during shipping are much more likely to upset the rangefinder mechanism. Chris
jaapv Posted March 28, 2014 Share #3 Posted March 28, 2014 Dropping it from a substantial height (e.g. from a car seat onto tarmac) or strong vibrations. Any normal use, bumps and jolts are not a problem.
colint544 Posted March 29, 2014 Share #4 Posted March 29, 2014 Shouldn't tempt fate really, but the strap on my MM failed whilst it was slung over my shoulder. Wasn't fast enough to catch it and the camera and 50mm Summilux ASPH hit a hard wooden floor, a drop of maybe a little under four feet. I couldn't see a(n additional) mark on the camera, and the rangefinder seems just as accurate as before. Maybe if the floor had been concrete it might have been a different story. Anyway, it seems a pretty tough camera, although I'll be hoping that doesn't happen again.
