dunos Posted February 22, 2014 Share #1 Posted February 22, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I understand that Leica is expensive. I get that completely. But I was still rather taken aback when, looking through the official pricelist for X Vario accessories I found that the Leica HDMI cable (a whole 1.5 meter cable) was priced at £100. Worse if you have a D-Lux... the HDMI cable for that will set you back a whopping £320 http://www.leica-storemayfair.co.uk/price-lists/price-list-jan-2014/Leica%20Price%201-2014_web.pdf Are these cables also hand made in Germany using 18ct gold wire? (side note: yes I realise I can use any HDMI cable)
Advertisement Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Hi dunos, Take a look here HDMI cable. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted February 22, 2014 Share #2 Posted February 22, 2014 Assuming for the sake of argument that these cables are not just relabeled OEMed products perhaps the cost of producing them in small quantities is too high to amortize down to a more normal price. Guytou Posted February 22, 2014 Share #3 Posted February 22, 2014 I think that a cable of this type will also be appropriate very well... HDMI Mini pour Leica D-Lux 6: Amazon.fr: High-tech Guy
waloszek Posted February 22, 2014 Share #4 Posted February 22, 2014 I think so, too. There is a similar offer on the German Amazon site. At least, a cable for 320 GBP is close to a Panasonic LF1 (352 EUR at Amazon, Germany), the "sister" of the DLUX6. Must be a great feeling to own such a cable!
