jevidon Posted March 1, 2014 Share #23 Posted March 1, 2014 There has always been a bit of individual variation between cameras, but from the M8.2 upwards the sound has been unchanged (except of course the M) The quietest one I had was my original M8 after upgrade. It really matters little to me. When you are out in the street, they won't hear you anyway and if you are indoors at public functions not even you will be able to hear your camera. They seem to be a lot more quiet than a Nikon F100 but somewhat louder than a film M - the digital M cameras do not sound annoyingly loud, though (to my ears).
