What is Leica's shutter rating?

I've seen 150k quoted, but I think this was based on older film cameras. I'd say enough not to worry about

The film cameras don't really have a limit they just go on and on. The cloth can wear or have pinholes so you replace the cloth. A CLA will get the times up to speed if they fall outside of the accepted variation.

I'm pretty sure the shutter life quoted is for electronic 'sealed unit' shutters used in digital M's. They are usually good for 100K-150K but that's the minimum, as long as there's no fault. They could carry on for many more exposures than that.

I agree, not worth worrying about in practical terms, although I might expect a s/h body with a very high count to go for somewhat less than an 'average' count body - rather like a higher mileage car.

Same as light bulbs like any digital camera.

one Nikon model is rated for 150k, and was in for service at nearly 500k. Nikon did not recommend changing it.

Canon rep told me they frequently get pro cameras with a million pics on original shutter. Not Rebels and such.
