wlaidlaw Posted February 7, 2014 Share #1 Posted February 7, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Are others experiencing a Ticking/Clicking from MF Grip when linked to satellites? It is only when the satellite connection is shown as active and a position located on "Info". it is quite faint and is more felt through the hands than heard. I wondered if it might be a relay or relays switching backwards and forwards between aerials in the grip. It makes no difference if you are on Live View or not. Wilson PS It is quite useful as it tells you when you have a "fix" without checking on Info.

algrove Posted February 7, 2014 Share #5 Posted February 7, 2014 Wilson I was out most of the day yesterday with mine active (when camera turned on) and I must admit I felt nor heard nothing. Although it was not quiet where I was shooting so it could have easily been missed at South Beach-Miami.

Guest redge Posted February 11, 2014 Share #7 Posted February 11, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) No ticking/clicking, but I've certainly noticed the (not surprisingly) increased battery drain.
algrove Posted February 11, 2014 Share #8 Posted February 11, 2014 Last week I shot with another M240 shooter for about 4 hours with both of us turning off sleep. He did not have the MF grip and his battery was at 85% and mine was at 65%.
wlaidlaw Posted February 11, 2014 Author Share #9 Posted February 11, 2014 The ticking and clicking seems to have stopped. Yet another Leica mystery which will never be solved. I am pleasantly suprised how little the battery drain seems to be affected. It is certainly better than my wife's V-Lux which is a real battery hog with the GPS turned on. John Black Posted February 11, 2014 Share #10 Posted February 11, 2014 Since this appears intermittent, my guess is that the beeping was some type of localized RF interference being picked up the GPS' antennae.
