andybarton Posted April 22, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted April 22, 2007 Thanks gents - I really do appreciate your comments. John I was with 4 other Leica shooters today. 2 had M8s, one both a D2 and a V-Lux and only one of us had a film camera. Today, it wasn't me. Sign of the times... (as I write this i have two rolls of delta 100 drying in the utility room )

lambroving Posted April 22, 2007 Share #6 Posted April 22, 2007 O.K., this is what the 60/2.8 is for. Nice one! DM-R colors are good. I miss the textures though. You may want to try it with John's E100X or Provia sometime to see the differences. When you get a hit with this lens, the result can be poetry. Yes, you can do the scientific stuff with it too, but somewhat abstract compositions with an intesting mix of colors as above will make the 60 sing. I use E100G..but yeah why not..I'll shoot a roll of Provia 100F and E100G..lets see..as for the E100GX..I find it too grainy. lambroving Posted April 22, 2007 Share #8 Posted April 22, 2007 Sorry, John. I get confused. Can't get anyone to look at slides..., so I shoot negative. Need to try some 100 UC and Portra 160 VC next opportunity to see which responds best. NC is possibly too flat for these subjects..., but I did learn the hard way not to shoot ISO 400 with such very limited DOF! That looks grainy..., and not the nice kind... andybarton Posted April 22, 2007 Author Share #9 Posted April 22, 2007 This is a full frame from the same sequence I don't like the way the green background interacts with the purple petals, so thought the tight crop was more interesting. fotografr Posted April 24, 2007 Share #10 Posted April 24, 2007 I actually prefer the full frame version. I think the purple and green look just fine together. That's nature. Nicely done, in both cases.
