adan Posted January 18, 2014 Share #1 Posted January 18, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) A passer-by with a celllphone made this snap while I was covering the Ouray Ice Climbing Festival last Sunday. My two M9s took 5 hours of blowing snow without a whimper (and it was heavier, wetter, and stickier snow than Colorado's usual "powder" - I had to dig it out of the eyepieces and front of the 21 several times.) Although at one point the lens detection cut out for lenses with "Sharpie" ink coding - I think the snowflakes dissolved or blurred the markings while I was changing lenses.... The Canon 6D/300mm did OK, but also threw a couple of "Err 01" lens-error tizzy-fits towards the end. The pix I took will be in my next issue of ColoradoSeen. Welcome, dear visitor! k_g_wolf ✝ Posted January 18, 2014 Share #2 Posted January 18, 2014 Brave, there aren´t many cameras around that would like to live on you, I presume. Good luck with the photographic outcome from this winter adventure... Best GEORG

elgenper Posted January 18, 2014 Share #6 Posted January 18, 2014 Impressive! I´m not babying my M9 and MM either, but I would have been very nervous about them in those circumstances. BTW, how long did the batteries last? I presume you went through a few during those 5 hours….

adan Posted January 19, 2014 Author Share #8 Posted January 19, 2014 I did have two M9s and thus two batteries, with a spare in the bag. Neither battery dropped below 50%, so I didn't need to swap them.
