Thank you for the photos of extremely nice cases and collections.

One question: do any of you store your equipment long-term in these leather cases, and if so, do you think fungus contamination is an issue?

Thanks.

Here is a picture of my new case I bought this week on Ebay.

Can anybody tell me what should be exactly in this case.

The VIOOH viewfinder is to big for the hole on the left side under, and the VIDOM is to small.

I have a RASAL viewfinder and that one is to big for the section right above.

And why not to add the following ? It is a very strong customized wooden case made in the early 1950s by the Belgian Leica importer (Ets Masson, Brussels) for the archaeology department of the Brussels University (ULB). The interior is entirely covered with velvet and shaped to accomodate a Leica IIIc with Hektor 135, LC60 lightmeter, single and twin cable releases and repro/copy equipment consisting of PLOOT, UXOOR bellows, OOZAB focusing stage and LVFOO magnifier. When I bought it for my Fontenelle collection in the early 1980s, it was complete. Now, it is empty and one of the remaining items in my "former collector's drawers".

Photos 1 and 2 are of the actual case closed, 3 comes from my archives and depicts the interior with its content, 4 in black-and-white is a better close-up of the content, and 5 is showing the nicely shaped interior.

I've the second case or the one on the right, it's pretty hopeless for everyday use but a decent quality case.

Believe this is the correct identifier

Leitz 14820 ‘Amateur case’.

BTW, I've no idea how you managed to get the camera and lens plus three other lenses in that case and film and filters?

This case was shown already but, I believe it is one of the best-designed cases for Leica. The top opens away from one's body, allowing unhindered access to the contents. Holds two bodies, five lenses plus film and other paraphernalia.

Sorry for the UV/IR filters on the lenses..... Photo was taken when my film M's were being retired, replaced with a couple of M8u's and I was too lazy to remove the filters just for the photo of the case.....

Cheers,

Jan

Another section of Leica are the slide projectors that most come in fitted cases usually having room for a spare bulb and cables .There are many different ones and are usually very easy to find as they were used in most schools and government buildings .Today seem to have little value and can be brought for a couple of dollars or even found a recycle places occasionally .

And now also projectors ? OK : here are some pixes from my former Fontenelle collection (by the way, I still have this material somewhere...).

Photos 1, 2 and 4 illustrate the nice leather case and its Prado 500 nº 179182 with Hektor 15 cm 1:2,5 (FOOWU).

Photo 3 is of Prado 500 nº 147109 with Hektor 10 cm 1:2,5 in its NIOPU fiber case.

And last : Pradovit Color 250 Autofocus with Elmaron 150 mm 1:2,8 (code 30364) in its 37962 special carrying case.
