ooohhhh I have to say I have a bit of an obsession about Pelican cases. Everything I own has one. They are the best way I know to keep your gear protected and pristine from bangs, air, dust moisture etc. I have a mix of the foam ones for minimal things but also the ones with padded dividers, which I find great and much more friendly with Silica Gel.

Check out the ones from Case Cruzer as well, which is also owned by Pelican Case I believe.

My favourite is my iWork case which is a modified Pelican case with a tripod mount fitted for location tethered work and a foam insert for a hypermac battery.

I live at the beach. We have sea spray that rolls in like fog especially in the winter. I've never taken any particular precautions (and have never had any problems) - just wipe everything down after a shooting safari. Leica's are particularly tough in my experience :D.
