Hi everyone,

As I already mentioned in another thread I am pretty new to photography. For professional reasons I have to spend a lot of time in Paris. So last year, during one of my stays, I decided to buy a nice point and shoot camera to have some fun during my evenings. Finally I bought the Fuji x-e1.

It only took me a couple of months to find out that I was completely obsessed by B&W photography. So, in September of 2013 (on my birthday) I finally decided to buy my first Leica camera... the Monochrom... with both, the 35 and 90mm summicron F2 lenses...

Ever since, photography took a whole new dimension for me and i can honestly say that, even if it costs me a whole lot of money, this was the best buy of my life :)

Thank you all for the most interesting and educative information on this forum,

Kind regards,

Frederic

hello frederic

thank you for the link. i think your photos of the 'seniors' are good examples of black and white photography, and you've treated the subject with proper respect and sensitivity.

what was the reaction from the seniors themselves, or from the management and staff of their residence?

The reaction was great.. They really appreciated each and everyone of the pictures (there are a lot more of them than posted on Flickr). In december I was asked to do an expo for the annual Christmas Fair so that the relatives could also have a look at the pictures. Finally both the retirement home and the relatives decided to buy some of them.

This was my first project and I have to admit that it was a heart-warming experience :)

Best regards,

Frédéric

Hi Jip, I live in the neighbourhood of Leuven. I hope you can join the Leica meet in Brussels end of March. Otherwise I would be more than happy to come to Antwerpen or Ghent to join you on a photo walk :)

Enjoy your day,

Frederic

I think I can join the meet, it's a few days after my birthday so I should be 'around'.

:)
