Is it worth having the lens correction app on the Nex-6?

Hi, this depends on the lenses you have. It is helpful for the Voigtländer 4,5/15 and the

ZEISS 4,5/21. Both tend to show pink corners on the NEX-6.

Just up the road from you Gerry

Indeed, I used to pass by the 'crooked spire' regularly when I was still buying Leica stuff, from Harrisons in Sheffield. Got all I need/can afford now! :)

Hi, life can be hard, even in my idyllic garden, as the one-eyed Garden Dormouse shows:

(My wife does not like the Garden Dormice. For her, they are fat mice with a fancy

name, a kind of Siberian Hamster ...)

I've posted this at the SONY A7R thread. However, I thinkl you may be interested in getting the information. Therefore, I post it again at this thread.

The fad of using Leica M lenses on the Sony Nex or A7 series cameras seems incidentally trigger the innovation of M-E mount adapter.

Some members of LUF adopt Hawk-Factory M-E mount adapter- Version 2.5 for their NEX 6 or 7 and by the way obtain the benefit of close distance capability for Leica M lenses (from 0.7 m to 0.23 m or so), while I’ve used the Version 3 with bigger rear opening suitable for A7r for almost half a year.

Yesterday I received the Version 4 as shown in the attachment, featuring improvements such as: 1. Reinforced structure at E-mount interface, 2. A rectangular rear opening in proportional to the shape of CMOS sensor. How is its relevance to the image quality? I took the same scene by V3 and V4 adapter respectively, looks like the rectangular shape guides better and hinder not any ray from the rear element of lens towards the COMS, without allowing rays straying and reflecting within the space between the lens and the adapter, resulting in a more coherent image (please see the building details in the center. I browse them by Dell UltraSharp 2711 monitor, 2560x1440 pixels). The comparison of OOC jpeg is here https://www.dropbox.com/sh/6w53r8d1125ys96/-bWOD-Zo13

I’m not sure whether the outcome of this set of images is only a single case or not, therefore the research to justify the consistency is needed.

Thomas, vignetting seems a little more pronounced on photo 2, left + right

but it seems more pronounced for 2 (version 4) for example building in center

in the background...but hard to be sure on a small photo to judge !

I have wrong ?

Just been trying out the A7 with off camera flash (Canon 580ex) and twin link triggers, flash from left and ambient from right

Thanks! Does the 580EX work fully autmonatic on the A7? (would be good news, as I have one ;-))

Last week i bought a cheap EOS to E mount adapter to try my Canon L lenses on the A7 to see if it would be worth buying a auto focus adapter, you cant adjust the aperture on the cheap one but wow the colours are great but i think it sets it widest aperture.

I would show some here but i could be shot

Thomas

Thanks for the full size pictures.

You are right , I think it's sharper and also less vignetting with V4 mount vs V3 mount

Best
