Guest camera man Posted December 17, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 17, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I need a -2 diopter correction lens for my universal view finder. The part number is 14384. It seems to be a part from the R camera days. It is not made any more but Leica still show it as a stock item on the web page under Universal View Finder. Please help if you can. Thank you

pgk Posted December 19, 2013 Share #3 Posted December 19, 2013 Try: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/other-leica-products/297387-puzzled-wiki-entry-forum-frankenfinder-diopters.html I never sorted this out - FWIW I've discovered that the rubber 'eyecup' is an expensive replacement part (~£50). Guest camera man Posted December 19, 2013 Share #4 Posted December 19, 2013 The correct part number lens came from Ffords today. The bad news is the lens is too big it will not fit into recess behind eye cup.
too old to care Posted December 21, 2013 Share #5 Posted December 21, 2013 This may not help, but recently I needed a corrective lens for my "new" Hasselblad prism finder. I took an old pair of glasses, removed the left lens and coated it with masking tape, marked a circle big enough to fit into the finder eye piece, and ground down the rest of the lens to make a circle. Works perfectly. Wayne
Guest camera man Posted December 24, 2013 Share #6 Posted December 24, 2013 The problem is that only the rubber eye cup should remove by turning it anti clockwise, the viewing lens and thread assembly should remain attached to the body of the UVF. Guest camera man Posted January 1, 2014 Share #7 Posted January 1, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) The rubber eye cup should screw away (off) from the ocular ( the viewing lens ). On my version of the UVF both the eye cup and the ocular screw away from the body as one. I can not place the correction lens between the eye cup and the ocular!!
