algrove Posted December 15, 2013 Share #21 Posted December 15, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) A few months ago Brenda (warranty) at Leica NJ told me that they are not yet connected to the Solms online registration system so it would be good to send in the card which she receives. Advertisement Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Hi algrove, Take a look here Warranty card and/or Owners site registration?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Bentham Posted March 8, 2015 Share #22 Posted March 8, 2015 I have an M 240 that needs servicing (will be sent to Allendale, NJ in the USA). I have not registered the camera online nor have I filled and returned the warranty card. From what I've gathered reading this thread, so long as I include the receipt from the dealer that I purchased the camera from I should expect no problems having it serviced, correct? Thanks! AlanJW Posted March 8, 2015 Share #23 Posted March 8, 2015 Yes, I think that you are clearly right about that. I can't imagine Leica refusing to honour the warranty in relation to someone who can provide proof of purchase, nor do I believe that it would have a legal right (at least in Canada and the US) to do so. The warranty is unaffected by the return of the card. In the US they are required by law to honor it. They could require proof of purchase to establish the date the warranty started to run. verendus Posted March 9, 2015 Share #25 Posted March 9, 2015 I spoke with Leica NJ. You do not need to send in your warranty card for service. In fact, even if you do, they will require your proof of purchase from an authorized Leica dealer. For most manufactures, warranty card is mainly for gathering your info for marketing purpose.
