Advertisement Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Hi k-hawinkler, Take a look here Parts dropping out of my M240. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Leonil Posted December 29, 2013 Share #42 Posted December 29, 2013 Not in my experience! In my Experience, Sony rarely releases firmware updates - so the current problem plaguing my friend's A7R is that it misses focus every 4th shot. Its like having a full frame camera in a point and shoot he says. But other than that, Im sure its am awesome camera - I just don't see AF improving anytime... ever. Most attacks on autofocus on this forum stem from no more than an inability to set up an AF camera. A good start is to separate AF from shutter release so you're not needlessly focussing every time you release the shutter.
thighslapper Posted December 29, 2013 Share #44 Posted December 29, 2013 I received it today. So, kudos and thanks to Leica NJ for a quick turnaround, they had it for about 10 days. Congrats ....... but 10 days to screw the endstop adjuster for the roller lever back in and re-check the viewfinder calibration is an inordinate amount of arse-scratching down-time..... Surge Posted December 29, 2013 Share #45 Posted December 29, 2013 Leica assembly line and QC department must be employing saboteurs working for Sony. I'm guessing this was caused by the techs in NJ forgetting to tighten that screw. I hate sending back anything like a camera unless it's to the factory. Robbbin Posted December 30, 2013 Share #47 Posted December 30, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) How common are these types of problems? Six or eight Nikons, two Mamiyas, a Fuji and an Argus C3 and I never had light leaks or parts that fell out. I hope the body gets back to you and never needs service again. Please confirm this is a rarity.
kdriceman Posted December 31, 2013 Author Share #48 Posted December 31, 2013 How much of that time was in shipping back and forth? It was at Leica NJ for 10 days... 4 of those were weekend days.
bephoto Posted December 31, 2013 Share #49 Posted December 31, 2013 "Coincidence is the word we use when we can't see the levers and pulleys"... Emma Bull That is worryingly crappy- Someone Forgot the Loktite Again? I feel for you- and -also about to send a camera back- I know what it's like:( I once had a piece of hair in the middle of a 50mm Summilux ASPH !!! bephoto Posted December 31, 2013 Share #50 Posted December 31, 2013 Lou, please see above, I rest my case. Still having an M9 is all the Leica camera experience I need. My A7R is wonderful for my needs. I wish all of you the best of luck with your M240s. It looks like you'll need it IMHO. Have you guys ever looked up Canon issues or Nikon issues on google its fun to learn (for me at least who don't have nikon/canon) how many problems other systems have. from light leak to lcd green cast.... it seems digital age is an age of imperfection and rush-the-product-r&d-cuz-bunch-of-idiots-are-waiting-to-pay era. i hope all problems are solved asap. As far as forums go this particular part coming loose is a one-off. Usually it is the frame-line selector levers falling off - but the M has not got one... Thanks. I don't need to look it up, I got a Nikon system as well. My D800E came with the left autofocus problem! But manual focus worked fine. It's repaired now. I use the D800E mostly with the new AF-S 80-400 VR lens. It's a great combination for birding, fast precise AF and excellent focus tracking.
