thapamd Posted November 24, 2013 Share #1 Posted November 24, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Please excuse me if this has already been brought up before. I did a forum search but couldn't find my answer. I set my exposure bracketing parameters on the Leica M and save it as a user profile. However, when I turn the camera off and on again, the bracketing parameters get reset and bracketing is turned off. Have any of you faced this issue, and is there a solution? I'm running firmware 2.0.0.11. Thank you in advance for your thoughts. M

thighslapper Posted November 24, 2013 Share #2 Posted November 24, 2013 This was a bug pointed out a long while ago. I thought it was fixed with the current firmware....... and when I tried it during beta testing before the firmware release it seemed to be ok..... I will have to check again......... mirekti Posted November 28, 2013 Share #5 Posted November 28, 2013 I enabled it, and saved it as a profile. The exposure bracketing is switched to off once I power off and on the camera.
thapamd Posted November 30, 2013 Author Share #6 Posted November 30, 2013 I enabled it, and saved it as a profile. The exposure bracketing is switched to off once I power off and on the camera. Thank you very much for verifying this. I hope Leica fixes it in the next firmware upgrade.
chmilar Posted November 30, 2013 Share #7 Posted November 30, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I can also confirm this bug, using the latest firmware. If I shut off the camera when it is on a user profile that has bracketing set, the bracketing is set to "off" when it is turned on. The other profiles are unaffected. thighslapper Posted December 1, 2013 Share #8 Posted December 1, 2013 Yes .... Exp Bracketing settings are not saved under any circumstances when the camera is powered down. Exactly as with the previous firmware...... and not fixed with this one..... despite the fact I and Rick pointed it out a long while ago. In beta testing I remember checking this with an intermediary firmware version and it worked ok..... but not now in 2.0.0.11 There is a rather unsatisfactory work-around ..... use the 'save profiles to card' in the manage profiles bit of the profiles menu. I have an HDR profile and at least this reloads it (and the other profiles) as it was before.... instead of going into menu and re-setting all the parameters. Remember that re-formatting the card deletes this data as well .... I have emailed Leica reminding them it still doesn't work......
Rick Posted December 2, 2013 Share #9 Posted December 2, 2013 TS - I just tried it on the beta firmware ver. 2.0.0.11 and it doesn't work. I saved the bracket mode to a user profile. When I just turned the camera off the setting was lost. I just don't understand why simple bug fixes like this and the ISO bug etc. are not released by Leica as they fix them. It isn't like it takes them more than a few minutes to change the offending line(s) of code. I would think that it would buy them so much goodwill... and I could sure use the little extra bit of functionality. I think they must have promoted the lug-guy to director of firmware.
