farnz Posted November 13, 2013 Share #2 Posted November 13, 2013 Welcome to the forum, Paul! If you haven't already, attaching a small, clear, self-adhesive, plastic bump button to the focussing button makes it much quicker to find and easier to use. They're available for very little from stationers. Pete.

Dannybuoy Posted November 14, 2013 Share #7 Posted November 14, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sugru is amazing. I could easily see with a bit of effort and a careful hand you could make bumpers and protectors for the edges of your camera. It would be interesting to see if a sugru grip on the front of an M would work. Custom fitted to your fingers. Could be great.

gravastar Posted November 14, 2013 Share #9 Posted November 14, 2013 Sugru is amazing. I could easily see with a bit of effort and a careful hand you could make bumpers and protectors for the edges of your camera. It would be interesting to see if a sugru grip on the front of an M would work. Custom fitted to your fingers. Could be great. I've just ordered Sugru black (Pack of 8) from Amazon. I find the Multifunction Grip to be quite uncomfortable compared with the MD Grip I have on the M9. The edge you hold on the MFG slopes away from the camera body whereas the MD edge is at right angles and soft, giving a much more secure purchase. Hopefully a triangular strip of Sugru will solve the problem. Also I don't find the finger loop particularly comfortable - my size is between medium and large. The sharp bottom edge of the large loop presses into my lower finger. Again judicious use of contoured Sugru may solve the problem. You can extend the shelf life of unopened Sugru by storing in the fridge. Bob.
farnz Posted November 14, 2013 Share #10 Posted November 14, 2013 Sugru can also make a useful spectacles protector on the viewfinder ring. Pete.
wlaidlaw Posted November 14, 2013 Share #11 Posted November 14, 2013 If you think the button is hard to find and operate now, even with the Bumpon I use on it, just wait until we have MF grips fitted. I have a feeling that adjusting EV will be close to impossible for anyone other than ET. Wilson
AlanJW Posted November 15, 2013 Share #12 Posted November 15, 2013 Sugru can also make a useful spectacles protector on the viewfinder ring. Pete. Does Sugru leach any gases that could affect the VF? I gave up on a Megaperls because its metal and my glasses did not play well together.
Dannybuoy Posted November 16, 2013 Share #13 Posted November 16, 2013 You can extend the shelf life of unopened Sugru by storing in the fridge. And you can keep opened packs wrapped in cling film in the fride and it doesn't set
