Advertisement Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Hi Abhinava Goswami, Take a look here Shutter Cycle. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jip Posted November 1, 2013 Share #2 Posted November 1, 2013 Less, but it might also be more... but don't worry with a M9 you don't shoot as 'fast' as with a Canikon on the M8 I know they always replace the shutter for free. Unless it broke because you dropped the camera for example... Don't worry about shutters and stuff like that, just use the camera. People who are afraid of the shutter to break might miss those great photos, because they are afraid to hit the shutter release!
tobey bilek Posted November 1, 2013 Share #3 Posted November 1, 2013 Pro Nikons and Canons routinely go 1 million, rated for 150,000. I know pros who are up to 500,000 and Nikon advised against a change as a precaution. Consumer grade ones were rated much less, but improving. Old cloth shutter Leica design criteria was 400,000 before needing adjustment. The digi Leica is 100,000 I believe I read somewhere. I think the new M is double that, but I can not remember where I read it. Credible? I don`t know. Carry a spare camera and do not worry. Which is why I do not sell off the old cameras. None are as reliable as a film M. Unless you take pro amounts of pics, they are not cost effective either. But they are fun and I pay the price. IWC Doppel Posted November 5, 2013 Share #4 Posted November 5, 2013 I read 150k as being expected, seems one or two have topped 100k. 18m on my current camera I am only at 12k in any case so that's 15+ years away for me
250swb Posted November 6, 2013 Share #5 Posted November 6, 2013 I always understood it was 150,000 for the M9, and given it uses the same shutter manufacturer as Nikon it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect the same high standard. Steve
