Super image, which camera, what lens, aperture, speed? You nailed the focus. ;)

wrt Bluebells, we have have had some blue, white and pink varieties in full bloom for the last couple of weeks in the walled kitchen garden; but in the meadows at the end of the East lawns they seem to be all leaves and just a few buds; normally they all flower at the same time, around the end of April.

The bats made their first appearance since October yesterday evening, no sign of the swallows over the lake, they are late, and the house-martins are expected any day according to the records.

Andy, you can't force people to comment so it's best not to get uptight about it. If it's any consollation I don't think there's always a correlation between the quality of an image and the number of comments it attracts.

As Pete said you not only nailed the focusing, but the M8 appears to have nailed the exposure too.

One thing I noticed in France last week was that rape seed seemed to be in bloom everywhere - plus the fact it was 27 degrees or so in Paris on Saturday :-)

Andy..great shot...of course the R 60mm Macro Elmarit proves its weight in gold here.... a truly remarkable lens..digital or film.

As for the shot.."cracker"..love the color

Whats this about the bluebells?

Thanks for your kind comments. I would never resort to a micro-sprayer for anything like this - or anything at all, for that matter. Except maybe greenfly ;)

John

Bluebells usually put on a great show in the first couple of weeks of May. My mother's birthday is 12th may, and the bluebells are normally looking good for that - and she lives in the South of england.

This year, they are around 3 weeks earlier than usual. And in the north of Wales.

Another clear sign that things are not right with the climate.
