Adapter fits 3 cam but not ROM/R cam

Hi,

I have an R-u43 adapter that takes all my R lenses without any problems. So when my newly acquired R-FujiX adapter refuses to let me attach the two lenses I have that are not 3-cam, I was really surprised. One of these is a ROM lens the other is an R/1-cam.

 

Has anyone else come across this?

I've no direct experience but maybe the problem is caused by the difference between the R only, ROM bayonet and the earlier SL, 3 cam bayonet.

The outer bayonet should be the same or the R/Rom lenses wouldn't fit my R4 or the u4/3 adapter. The cams are on the inside of the flange and shouldn't make a difference as there is no linking to the diafragm.

From memory some newer R lenses were designed not to fit on the SL bodies.

 

That's what I meant by the difference between flanges.

Correct. Most 3rd-cam and all ROM lenses will not fit on any of the Leicaflexes without modification. It seems odd that a new adapter would have a Leicaflex flange but the evidence is pointing in that direction.

I dont know about the X adaptor you have, but I have adaptors from many manufacturers (Fotodiox, Jinfinance, Novoflex) for R lenses to Canon 5d Mk3, Nex, u4/3 and all my ROM lenses fit all adaptors.

 

I do of course have problems with my ROM lenses on my non-ROM 2x extender.
