Geolux Posted October 12, 2013 Share #1 Posted October 12, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) 10-11-2013 Hello: Today I applied the firmware update. So far, no problems. However, several hours after the update, a CHECK BATTERY message in red type appeared on the INFO screen. The battery had been charged over 80% an hour or so before this, and other than adjusting some settings on the menus, nothing else was done. I tried all sorts of things, removing and re-inserting the battery several times, resetting all the menus, checking all the settings, repeatedly turned it on and off, clicked off about 2 dozen exposures in rapid succession, held the camera upside down and operated all the dials and buttons, etc. - yet the message persisted. Finally I repeatedly and quickly turned the “on-off” switch through all its setting about 15 times. Bingo !! The message disappeared, and everything seems to be working as it should. The cause? Perhaps a speck of dust, but who knows? Stay tuned. And a separate question. How strong is the tripod socket on the M-240? I want to use the old 15mm Super Elmar-R with the M-R adapter 22228. That is one heavy lens. Can the tripod socket handle leverage like that?

lct Posted October 12, 2013 Share #2 Posted October 12, 2013 A battery drain of about 10% per hour is to be expected if the sleep mode has been disabled.
