Upper left one looks like an open book with pages fanned out. Amazing!

Absolutely right, this was my idea, too. They could tell lots of stories, no doubt. This one was actually the first one which caught my interest. I took only these four, because I was with our daughter who has due to her age still a limited patience with daddy's messing around with tripod and all the other stuff:) I will have to go there once again, there are tons of impressive motifs, BTW living trees, too.

If you ever find yourself in the southern California area, the East side of the Sierras to be specific, on Highway 395 near Bishop, I urge you to treat yourself to a side-trip to the top of the White Mountains ( about 10,000 feet ) for a visit to the bristle cone pine forest. There, walking among these trees, you will be in the presence of the oldest living thing on earth, a tree 4850 year old. It's not identified, since the park service is worried it may fall victim to vandalism, but believe me, it's OK inot to know which particular tree is Methusela, as this tree has been dubbed, becauses the mere feeling of being in this very special & unique spot spot will make an indelible impression on you for the rest of your life.

Highly recommended.
