Advertisement Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Hi r7photo, Take a look here Will there be an X3. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted September 16, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted September 16, 2013 Undoubtedly there will be an X3 (probably called just X) - sometime. But as the X2 is a good camera with excellent imagery ( like the X1), why wait? After the X3 there will be an X4.

earleygallery Posted September 16, 2013 Share #4 Â Posted September 16, 2013 What's wrong with using the M for travel photography?
spylaw4 Posted September 17, 2013 Share #5 Â Posted September 17, 2013 There's nothing wrong with using the M for travel photography, it's just that some of us don't want to hump the weight and bulk around any more.
colonel Posted September 17, 2013 Share #6  Posted September 17, 2013 There's nothing wrong with using the M for travel photography, it's just that some of us don't want to hump the weight and bulk around any more.  Conception of weight must be going down  I define a M9+lens extremely low weight.  The best usage of very small cameras is when you have to either sneak a tiny camera into a place where it's not strictly allowed or you are in shorts and t-shirt in a dirty environment (eg beach)  I wonder where that leaves poor DSLR folks and their physiotherapists
earleygallery Posted September 17, 2013 Share #7 Â Posted September 17, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Indeed, I consider M cameras to be compact, although I agree they're not especially light. Â However, considering the gubbins that one needs to take with the camera (charger, batteries, adaptor plug) I'm not sure I see the point in purchasing another camera which is not as good in terms of quality or versatility, just to save a little weight. Â Each to their own of course. Â If I want to travel very light I either make do with the iphone, or carry a Minox/small digicam.
r7photo Posted September 18, 2013 Author Share #8 Â Posted September 18, 2013 Nothing wrong with m as travel, but often woory about thefts, yes I have insurance but think at times could use
Saloti Posted September 18, 2013 Share #9 Â Posted September 18, 2013 X3 or new X Vario with 2-3 different zoom lenses, this would be a very intelligent complementary story to M, I would buy it
Steve Lane Posted September 19, 2013 Share #10 Â Posted September 19, 2013 I would like to see an X3 with a 50mm (eqiv) lens - preferably f1.4, but this might make the camera too bulky and expensive. If it did, an f2 would be fine.
dickgrafixstop Posted November 28, 2013 Share #11 Â Posted November 28, 2013 Yes. And a X4, X5 and an Xn - unless, of course, Leica goes out of business for being late to market and non competitive. Maybe you ought to wait for a Leica smart phone or an Apple phone with a Leica lens. Maybe you ought to concentrate on using the stuff you already own. Maybe you ought to ................ tookaphotoof Posted November 30, 2013 Share #13 Â Posted November 30, 2013 I sometimes come across X2 cameras for around 1000-1100 euro. Looking at photos it sometimes is tempting to pick one up to replace my Panasonic LX5. Â Â Â Â Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
wda Posted November 30, 2013 Share #14 Â Posted November 30, 2013 " Will there be an X3?" Â I doubt it. Leica seem to have moved to a generic system for each camera line. So, if Leica do produce another version, it will probably be given a Typ No.
