Guest gamincurieux Posted September 15, 2013 Share #1 Posted September 15, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi.... hope someone can help. Today is the first time in a long time that I've taken my M6TTL out to shoot. After some time I noticed that there's a hole in the top plate under the film rewind lever. I immediately thought oops a screw's fallen out, but I looked in the manual to see there would normally be some kind of plastic stopper in that hole. I'd never noticed it before & cannot imagine what purpose it serves. I've seen a video on how to remover the top plate, but the process doesn't involve this hole. Obviously it will now need a workshop visit, but can anyone tell me what's it for, and if it's missing does it mean the camera is no longer light-tight??? Thank you & look forward to reading you Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! wattsy Posted September 15, 2013 Share #2 Posted September 15, 2013 I think it is an adjustment hole (from memory I think it provides access to an adjustment for the 1/500 and 1/1000 shutter speeds but I might be wrong). A piece of black tape should suffice to prevent light leaks (though I doubt that the hole would give rise to light that reaches the film plane). wda Posted September 15, 2013 Share #4 Posted September 15, 2013 It looks as if a tiny sealing plug is missing. Mine does not have an open hole there.
Paulus Posted September 15, 2013 Share #5 Posted September 15, 2013 Yes. A tiny rubber plug is normally to be in there.
250swb Posted September 15, 2013 Share #6 Posted September 15, 2013 Yes cover it with a small bit of tape until you need some justifiable adjustment made to the camera by a technician. Steve
