IWC Doppel Posted September 12, 2013 Share #1 Posted September 12, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi I use Silver Efex Pro and Lightroom 4.4 and wondered which are the best options to use when editing from LR to SEP I have guessed the following as the best settings, but this is a guess ! Tiff PhotoRGB 16 Bit 360 No compression I also cannot seem to change from the default of Tiff, sRGB,16 Bit,240, no compression using the preference menu in LR ? I have no clue what the resolution is referring to or if choosing PhotoRGB is correct, can anyone help here ?
Advertisement Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Hi IWC Doppel, Take a look here Edit settings for SEP in LR4. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Bart D Posted September 13, 2013 Share #2 Posted September 13, 2013 I use the same setting save for the resolution. I leave that at 240. LR indicates that 16-bit ProPhoto RGB is the recommended choice for best preserving colour details from LR. Seems like a good idea, I'd say. If you want to change the default setting, go to Edit, Preference, External Editing. On that tab, in the box Additional External Editor, choose the preset that is pointing to Silver Efex Pro and change the defaults to the settings you want. The moment you change anything, you can click on the preset "button" and in the drop down list, at the bottom, you get the options to either 'Save current settings as New Preset' or 'Update Preset "..."' Where ... is the name you gave the preset in the first place. You will notice that the name of the preset got the word (edited) added to its name. This reads a lot more complicated than it actually is
jaapv Posted September 15, 2013 Share #3 Posted September 15, 2013 The resolution setting is irrelevant here. It only comes into play when you are printing.
