More issues with X Vario (image rotate)

Is it just me or do others have problems with image rotation information when bringing images into lightroom?

I'm seeing a small but noticeable percentage of photos (5-10%) that are not rotated properly. Either landscape photos which are oriented in a vertical direction or vice versa. Also, note that these photos were taken in stable/still/standing conditions and the lens was oriented towards the horizon (i.e. not at some crazy odd angle).

Looks like it's another potential problem but hopefully fixable in firmware. That being said, it could be due to some noisy or out of spec accelerometer used for levelling.

Update:

When I talk about 5-10%, I'm talking out of 300+ photos. Another words, I see roughly 30 photos which I have to manually rotate in lightroom. This is not a deal breaker but still a big annoyance - in combination with all the AF problems.

Rhetorical question: Why is my $500 Canon S90 able to AF perfectly and orient my photos perfectly every time like a well behaved professional but my $3000 X Vario behave like a schizophrenic?

Good to know that this is not only happening to me.

I've got 77,000+ photos in my lightroom library and never have I ever had this problem. This never happens with any of my other cameras past or present (Canon S90, Canon 5D Mk2, Canon 30D, Leica M8.2), this only happens on the X Vario.

Moreover, I don't think this is an LR5 (which is what I'm using) problem since I don't have the same image rotation problem with my M8.2 photos in LR5 and I've got well over 2500 newly imported photos since migrating to LR5 (and I've been using LR since the first public beta).

I experienced this anomaly when using the XV on a copy stand for close-up photography (with supplementary Elpro c/u lenses attached). The images were taken in landscape format but when viewed in camera they displayed in portrait (vertical) format. And when download they were all in portrait format and required rotation. 'AUTO ROTATE' was set to 'ON'. However, several hours later, with the same setting, the rotation to portrait format did not occur. The images which rotated had black backgrounds and I'm wondering if the expanse of black on either side of the main subject might have triggered the rotation. The later close-up images taken using the copy stand had a light coloured background - and did not rotate when previewed in camera or when downloaded.
