The landlord and architect Fouquet was dismissed by the king, probably out of jealousy because it's a beautiful castle,a beautiful domain with beautiful forest around. The designer of the garden Le Nôtre is the same as the famous garden of "Château de Versailles"(Versailles castle) North side, which is the entrance to the castle picture in "contre jour" (not easy with M9).You can see the detail of the facade of the castle modest and simple ! Karl, This is the castle that is beautiful.
