whitepointphoto Posted August 27, 2013 Share #1 Posted August 27, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anybody heard of this? A couple of days ago I flicked my M8 on and .... nothing. I knew the batery was charged but I stuck it on charge again just to be sure. Again flick it on...dead! Get on the web, nothing but bad news there. Pop the card out, new card in...nothing. So now I am randomly flicking it on, holding down buttons trying to elicit some response and then low and behold I get brief flash of action from the battery indicator/frame count window. Hang on, what did I do?. More random button pushing and I figured it. I turn the camera on nothing, if while in the on position I depress the shutter button the camera "wakes up". Happy days because I am on holidays and this is the only real camera I have taken with me. So now every time I use the camera, mourn it on, press the shutter release to wake it up and off we go. Not ideal but she works again. I have rei stalled the latest firmware but to no avail. Has anyone come a cross this? Anyone heard of a fix? regards, David

jaapv Posted August 27, 2013 Share #3 Posted August 27, 2013 This one has been described before. Either live with it -it does not appear to get worse- or return to Leica for repair.
GdOC Posted August 29, 2013 Share #4 Posted August 29, 2013 I experienced the same problem! Batterpy goes dead if you use discreet mode AND continuos shutter. In internet you will find a similar case. No problem. Turn off and recharge the battery.
