Pappy Posted April 10, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted April 10, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, Â I am the proud new owner of a Digilux 2, and have been blown away by some of the shots this camera has made so far. The only problem that I have now is storage; I fill up my 256 mb sandisk SD card very fast, and need to upgrade now! Â So here is my question. What is the largest and fastest card that can be used in the Digilux2? Â I would like to buy a 4 gig card, but am afraid that it will not be accepted. Â I will be posting some shots very soon.... thanks!

fotografr Posted April 10, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted April 10, 2007 Why not buy two 2 GB cards?
Richard Bolt Posted April 10, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted April 10, 2007 I use 2GB cards in my Digilux 2, and I believe that 2GB cards are the largest that the Digilux 2 will accept.
cbretteville Posted April 10, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted April 10, 2007 Richard, that is correct. 2GB is the max.
Pappy Posted April 10, 2007 Author Share #5 Â Posted April 10, 2007 Well, for one, I've heard that if the 4 gig isn't the "new" format (SDHC) then there should be no problem as far as size is concerned. The second issue is that I have found a pretty good deal on 4 gig 150x Transcend SD cards and was hoping that they would be accepted. Has anyone actually tried these cards out on the Digilux 2 and had them rejected?
asabet Posted April 10, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted April 10, 2007 I tried that exact Transcend 4GB card and got errors in my D2. It does not work. I am now using a Sandisk 2GB Ultra II - works great. The 4GB Transcend works perfectly in my G7, so I know it's not the card.
wda Posted April 10, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted April 10, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Why do you want a 4gb card for the D2? Even if you are going on a long world trip it would be better to have several lower capacity cards and a separate digital store like the Epson P3000. (Actually I have the P2000 but that has been replaced now by Epson). For three years I have operated with several 512 mb cards and have seldom been caught out short of storage. Before each session I make sure that I have an empty card in the camera. Backing up is highly recommended. Â David
Pappy Posted April 11, 2007 Author Share #8 Â Posted April 11, 2007 As I had said before, it is because of the opportunity that I had found online for these cards. Â However, as I have asabet's confirmation that the 4 gig does not work, I will leave it at that. Â Thanks to everyone for their input!
spylaw4 Posted April 11, 2007 Share #9 Â Posted April 11, 2007 The faster the card the better (compatability allowing of course) especially if you want to shoot RAW. 2Gb is the max size. Get plenty!
