wlaidlaw Posted August 23, 2013 Share #1 Posted August 23, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) On Fleabay at the moment there are two Leica II's with nickel Elmars for sale from different sellers in different countries with the same serial number. A fake Leica II factory or a fraudulent sale? What do folks think? Should I report the sales to eBay? Leica II black Nickel #87745 + Elmar 3.5/50 | eBay and Leica II black Nickel #87745 + Elmar 3.5/50 | eBay Wilson

wlaidlaw Posted August 24, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted August 24, 2013 Seems a very odd thing to do as you will get charged two listing fees plus photo hosting costs etc. Wilson
250swb Posted August 24, 2013 Share #4 Posted August 24, 2013 It is regular behaviour for this seller to do it. I can't imagine what he gains by doing it, other than suspicion, but he's been doing it for long enough now that he must have some sort of business plan. wlaidlaw Posted August 24, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted August 24, 2013 Steve, Thanks for the info. I am looking for a nice black "II" and nickel Elmar at the moment. This (these) ones are IMHO a fair bit overpriced. Wilson

Sometimes there are even differences in price due to the different taxation in different countries. cheers.

The sellers are in different albeit neighbouring countries. Wilson
jc_braconi Posted August 24, 2013 Share #8 Posted August 24, 2013 as a "Registered as a Business Seller" allows him to get discount on posted items. I remember he was registered in Austria next in Czech Republic and now also in Slovania, countries close together. And his prices are around 2,5 time the average values. May be a clone of Boris...
