Neil, when you say gutsy ballhead I think you mean gitzo and I think this is the GH1781QR, right? I have the GH1780QR and it does the job well.

That makes it a little clearer

Marc it's a gutsy ball head

The case is a perfect snug fit and even in portrait mode it felt solid ......... No duct tape needed like the Luigi.........lol

Thanks. It looks nice

Goes to show how versatile the Noctilux 0.95 really is.

Dee

Now that I have spent some time with this lens it will be my go to lens 90% of the time when I need something wider I will go to my second lens 21 lux ( no more lenses) and if I need something longer I will wait and buy a 90 APO................

Best regards

The 50-Noctilux and 21-Summilux is a very versatile (but heavy) combination although I have a 1.0/50.

Neil,

I've enjoyed this thread, thanks!

Where did you take these pictures?

Bob I took that picture in Srinagar Kashmir right beside the Pakistani border

Did you use the standard tripod screw or did you need a longer one to go through the case and into the camera?
The case I have has its own independent tripod screw so I just used the standard length screw

Mark.........to be honest I dont even notice it. My set up before Leica was D3s and 70/200 D800e 14/24 so weight wise I have lost a bunch

I would be disappointed if there really is not something out there called a gutsy ballhead. If that's true I'm going to have to find something I can attach that name to. Or perhaps use it as a term of amiable abuse among mates: "did you really hang out of the car window to take that shot? You gutsy ballhead!"

Wow, I've always wanted to travel to that area, it seems spectacularly beautiful. How was your trip? Was it hard to get there? Is there any danger in traveling there? Is it as stunningly beautiful as you expected?

You're a lucky guy!

Kashmir is a photographers dream place it's like going back in time. If i did it again I would go when it is not so cold.

As for being safe i would rather walk the streets in kashmir than say Florida or Dundee..........the Kashmiri people are very friendly
