This is a photo of the ship’s bell of the Mary Rose now installed at the entrance to the new Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth.

The bronze bell was made at Mechelen near Antwerp and the Flemish inscription means I was made in the year 1510 which was the year Henry VIII placed his order for the ship.

The best foundry available in the early 16th century was Geert van Wou in Kampen. At the time (and still) the North of the Netherlands was home to very highly reputed gun and bell foundries (well, no guns nowadays;)), as the area has just the right kind of clay used for casting.

Geert van Wou was internationally acknowledged as the best bell maker of his time, perhaps even of all time.

So if the bell was made in Mechelen Henry did some shopping around.
