Titusanna Posted July 23, 2013 Share #1 Posted July 23, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I keep an old Leica in my drawer ever since my father replaced it with a more modern camera back in the mid-70's. According to serial no = 137xxx, the lookup table (Leica Screw Mount Serial #'s Sorted by Number) and the pictures on JC Barconi's webpage this seems to be a "Leica Standard" built in 1934. The leflet for calculation shutter times states a print date of "April 1933". Does this all fit ? Are there still many of these models around and where can I find some interested collectors for this item? I have made some (digital) fotos of the camera and can send them for a better visual impression, if interested. Thanks in advance for any good hints or pointers. Advertisement Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Hi Titusanna, Take a look here Is this a "Leica Standard", 1934?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted July 23, 2013 Share #2 Posted July 23, 2013 It is a fairly common camera. Only pristine ones with box and papers and provenance can been seen as collectable. A camera like you describe may be a nice thing to have for a Leica lover. For a price indication visit the Red Dot Camera site and have a look on eBay. All will depend on the condition. The upside is that these cameras are still repairable/restorable.
luigi bertolotti Posted July 23, 2013 Share #3 Posted July 23, 2013 Some good pictures of old Leicas are always welcome in our forum, and it needs a minimal post processing to make them apt to be posted here : as Jaap said, the Standard is not a rarity, but we always appreciate to see such items here... and could be that your item has some detail of specific interest... what about the lens, for instance ? Is there any ? Is it an Elmar ?
