I have attempted to update my firmware from 1.09 to 1.092 carefully following the directions given by Leica. However, when I turn the camera on with the card containing the new firmware nothing occurs to cause an update. Have a fully charged battery. Tried it on several occasions with the same resule. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Harris

I did unzip it - when I unzipped the file I got the following m8_1_092upd. And with this on the card it would not update the firmware. Is there anything else I should have done with the file? Thanks, Harris

Did you place that file in the ROOT of the card? IE not in any folder.

Are you using a fully charged battery? If not charge the battery or insert ine that is fully charged.

It was only a few days ago that you posted that you had a 4gb sdhc card that worked for a while and then stopped. I don't believe this because sdhc cards do not work in the M8. In any event, if this is the card you are still trying to use it simply will not work!! If you have otherwise followed the instructions and have a non-sdhc card, it will work. If it doesn't, you didn't follow them.

I finally got it. I had formated a 2 gig Transend card in the camera and had a fully charged battery. Mistakenly I thought the DCIM folder was the root directory. Just realized my mistake and just successfully updated the firmware. I guess that when you pass the 70 mark, it takes a little longer for things to sink in. Thanks for all the help. It is really great to have all of you around for assistance. :) :) :) :) Harris
