Advertisement Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Hi Marac, Take a look here I cannot seem to get BBC1 on my screen. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ChrNil49 Posted July 19, 2013 Share #2 Posted July 19, 2013 BBC1 works fine on my MM but I only get B&W, no colour.
Chuck Albertson Posted July 19, 2013 Share #3 Posted July 19, 2013 Got my new Leica M today and cannot seem to get BBC1 is this a common problem or should I send it in for a re-tune? You should be able to get Radio 4 LW on the audio channel. What more could you want?

Delcredere Posted July 19, 2013 Share #6 Posted July 19, 2013 Yes this is a common bug which is to be solved by the forthcoming firmware update. Meanwhile you should use any Cannon camera for this purpose.
farnz Posted July 19, 2013 Share #7 Posted July 19, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Got my new Leica M today and cannot seem to get BBC1 is this a common problem or should I send it in for a re-tune? I regret that the M240 will not receive BBC1 or CCD1 and will only receive CMOS1 when using the Leica M to R (Moving pictures to Radio) adaptor. A licence is needed and the recipient normally needs to hold the camera at arms length in one hand above the head while on tip-toe and balancing on one leg to ccr---receive a cccrr----decent signal--cccrrr - - pop. The built-in microwave oven, however, works surprisingly well although roasting anything larger than a quail is likely to prove a challenge but can be continuously monitored through the ample oven window. Programming the microwave oven couldn't be easier owing to the multifunction buttons to the left hand side (a European foible) of the oven window. Rated 5 stars in the Camera Microwave Monthly review. Pete.
pgk Posted July 19, 2013 Share #8 Posted July 19, 2013 Got my new Leica M today and cannot seem to get BBC1 is this a common problem or should I send it in for a re-tune? Its the 'dross' filter. Sadly it appears to be set to operate somewhat over-zealously and BBC1 is being blocked out more often these days;). Try to drop it down to 7 levels below the 'Sun' setting. Marac Posted July 19, 2013 Author Share #12 Posted July 19, 2013 Thanks for the laugh guys that's some funny stuff right there.. BTW, just for clarification, I do not own a Leica M, I still have my MM so I watch in B&W too and I kept my M8 so I can at least watch BBC1 in purple. farnz Posted July 19, 2013 Share #13 Posted July 19, 2013 ... BTW, just for clarification, I do not own a Leica M, I still have my MM ... Ah, in that case you'll need to choose the detergent you use in your MM very carefully or your colourful football strip will be converted to a pre-1961 version when, owing to government regulations, all football strips were monochrome (as were snooker balls). You might find the spin cycle frustratingly slow, which Leica deliberately designed that way to preserve battery life. You should only need to use fabric conditioner where you have high contrast areas otherwise a HDR (Heavy Detergent Rinse) cycle should be sufficient. On the upside, your clothes will appear exceptionally clean especially if you use the MM's high ISO wash for particularly stubborn stains like blood, coal, tar, and silver nitrate. Pete. Guest malland Posted July 20, 2013 Share #15 Posted July 20, 2013 If you guys considering this to be humor, I can only say that something is missing in your lives or that you have much to much time on your hands. If it's the latter, have a look at this thread, from which you'll see that the M9 has no "low-ISO problem" and can produce beautiful color at night — you might even decide that you won't need to get the M240. —Mitch/Bangkok Bangkok Obvious [WIP] Eggleston said that he was "at war with the obvious"... viramati Posted July 20, 2013 Share #19 Posted July 20, 2013 I seem to be getting interference from other channels on mine but all the same they are sharper than on the M9 (of course this is somewhat British humour and we could argue about it which of course reminds this forum at times)
