Luke_Miller Posted July 18, 2013 Share #1 Posted July 18, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) My free copy of SEP2 from Leica works nicely with Lightroom, but does not install as a plugin for Photoshop. When I run the installer I only have the option of installing to Lightroom. My suspicion is the Leica version's installer is limited to installing for Lightroom only. I downloaded the Nik Collection trial version and its installer "sees" both Lightroom and Photoshop. Has anyone successfully installed the free MM copy of SEP2 as a Photoshop plugin? Luke_Miller Posted July 18, 2013 Author Share #2 Posted July 18, 2013 Found the answer for anyone else who may wish to use the free Leica version of SEP2 with Photoshop. The Leica version installer only looks for Lightroom and will not permit adding another application. I found a trial version download of SEP2 (not the Nik Collection) and that installer has the ability to add another app. It did not automatically "see" Photoshop CC, but I could manually add it. I believe it will automatically find earlier versions of Photoshop. After install SEP2 Trial found my Leica version license code and converted to a registered copy. Now SEP2 works fine from both Lightroom and Photoshop
Guest WPalank Posted July 18, 2013 Share #3 Posted July 18, 2013 Luke, My problem with the Google (Nik software) is it sees too many versions. In other words, on updates, It wants to Install on LR4 CS6, Aperture 9which i don't use any more but who knows), CS5... And you can't turn any of them off unless you do a manual install, but not about to get into that.
Luke_Miller Posted July 19, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted July 19, 2013 I noticed that as well. If the installer "sees" a compatible application it will install SEP2 as a plugin for it whether you want that or not.. The "+ & -" controls in the installer window (not in the Leica version) seem to only function for applications that are manually added and have no effect on the ones the installer "found'.
