used M9

I have my M9 with me all the time and love it. 27k actuations in just over 2 years so just getting used to it. The images I get are superb, when I get it right and I am in no rush to get an M(240). Don't get me wrong i'm not saying, don't get an M(240), its very 'current'.

I was in R G Lewis(London Leica Dealer) this morning and played with the M(240) and thought it to be a lovely camera but no way worth the price of trade in and 'up grade' of my amazing M9 and i didn't have a flush of 'oh no, How am I going to get THIS by the wife!'

I would love to have my M9 P'd but to be honest i've realised that its much more prudent these days to put the money into glass, not gorilla or sapphire but the kind that will make a difference to the actual photo.

By the way, whilst talking to the guy, Len i think, at R G Lewis he said the M9's are flying out as people are realising that a good condition M9 really is a very, very good camera. (Last of the proper M's ;) ) 3 x M9s this morning.

This wasn't meant to be seen in any way as a M(240) bashing but more of an M9 love'in.

Lets keep taking snaps.

It seems that a lot of M8 shooters are updating to an M9.

The number of used M8's is significant high, as the number of used M9's stays constantly relatively low (but thats not a surprice with the delivery rate of Solms:D:D)

Thanks to everyone! I just picked up my M9, so the question is kind of answered :)

Congrats!!! Did you pick up a black or silver? I picked up one a couple of weeks ago and am loving it! :-D

...In terms of the photography, the M9 is more limited - you can't use adapted lenses, you can't use an evf for easy macro or telephoto etc, and the low light performance isn't wonderful...
Beg to differ on the low light performance: I love the colors that the M9/M-E can produce at night and, for improved high ISO performance, look at this thread.

Congrats! Looking also for a black one, to hook it up to my new 50mm Summilux ASPH:D:D:D

Send me a PM and I may get off my lazy ass, take images of the camera, and assemble the box.

Got it back lat December from New Jersey after they did a calibration and cleaning.

Got the deal of a lifetime for buying the M9P after trading in my M8 which had the coffee stain issue. That was the only reason for non-use.

@William: your settings here in the forum do not allow others to send you pm's!:(

Sunny greetings from the South-Eifel, one of the most beautiful areas in Germany!

John,

I think things are fixed now. It looks like there are two sections in the User CPU that contradict themselves. william AT PALANKPhoto Dot C0m

Since I can't see on horizon a silhouette of my future M240, I picked up a second M9 (steel gray) body to go along my "old" black M9...

Shutter at 19K, but price was to good to pass... :D

After I get my M240, I just might send the new (to me) steel gray M9 for a M9P upgrade and CLA... For now, I am set! :p
