jmr Posted April 7, 2007 Share #2 Posted April 7, 2007 Stefan, I can't understand why you haven't had lots of comments on this. You've taken a wonderful set of really strong, individual images and blended them into a fabulously evocative record of the day. Knock-out! You should do more of these and don't forget to put them up for us to see. Well done and thanks - it was a treat.
Guest WPalank Posted April 7, 2007 Share #3 Posted April 7, 2007 Stefan, Wonderful series! My only comment is that the music made me depressed. Was that the artistic decision? To me (being half Irish and recovering Catholic), St. Paddy's has always been a joyous occasion (get your kilt on sort of thing). On the build up of the the music, I was half expecting the film to end with police clashing with spectators or something like that. My 2 quid. But really a wonderful set of images. Thanks for sharing!

Chuckcars Posted April 8, 2007 Share #7 Posted April 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Excellent work. Your choice of lenses is terrific. I like the mix of Color and BW. Last slide fits. Music grows on you.
rob_x2004 Posted April 8, 2007 Share #8 Posted April 8, 2007 Stefan, Low responses might have something to do with the dl file sizes of the images. Theres music too? I have DSL but I am in the country. The other day I sat round for five minutes and saw no images at all. Returning now and after some of the comments I perservered and have been sitting round for ages but I am now in buffering and have seen your cover image and the airplane in the cloudy blue sky. Buffering is at 66% still, so I have seen only one image. It just isnt moving. Flash 9 is right click protected, so I cant see file size of the image. Im locked up completely on your site now. Hope the info helps. Regards

hpu Posted April 8, 2007 Share #11 Posted April 8, 2007 Stefan, Great show. Please carry on. With this sseing I come to the understanding that I have to learn more and more. Thanks for showing and sharinf.
dotandcom Posted April 8, 2007 Share #12 Posted April 8, 2007 Stefan, I agree with the others: this is a tremendously impressive slide show. Many of the images would be winners when looked at individually. Together, they have great power. That said, I've rarely seen a more dejected lot of celebrants. Where is the joy and the exuberance, the discarding of inhibition? Were people really so downcast on their national day? Congratulations on an outstanding photographic essay. All the best, Chris
biglouis Posted April 8, 2007 Share #13 Posted April 8, 2007 Stefan I can only echo the other positive comments. Some breathtaking shots. For some reason the colour shots stand out for me more than the b/w which says something about your skill in taking pictures. A fantastic collection which I thoroughly enjoyed viewing. LouisB PS It may help that I have 8MB broadband!
FMB Posted April 8, 2007 Share #14 Posted April 8, 2007 What a high standard! B&W and COLOUR. Nothing have left for us, poor men trying to post only one interesting image... Stefan, congratulations, Francisco.

soeser Posted April 9, 2007 Author Share #16 Posted April 9, 2007 Thank you all so much for your comments! Unfortunately the music doesn't really fit to the day it was. I was very impressed about the warm, happy and friendly mood everybody had at that day. So the music communicates a wrong idea. I also liked the irish folk sounds of the day very much and bought a CD of irish music for the slideshow. However I decided against the irish sound because I think 8 minutes of the typical irish fiddle is probably too "much" for the uninvolved viewer. But on the other side the used music draws a wrong picture of the day. Has somebody an irish music recommendation for the slideshow? (should be a rather slow sound.) Thank you again for your comments - helped me very much. @Pierre-Olivier: The music is from my favourite band "Sigur Ros" - they are from Iceland. andym911 Posted April 9, 2007 Share #17 Posted April 9, 2007 I really enjoyed the images...some great ones there.I do miss a few smiles and joviality but I take my hat off for a great series. On the music front I agree it is a little solemn...try something upbeat from the pogues! Or some U2, there are some great classics there that would potentially fit.. thanks for posting andy
hiphop Posted April 9, 2007 Share #18 Posted April 9, 2007 Thanks Stefan, I will listen to Sigur Ros. Iceland, extraordinary people on a fantastic island. Their music must magic too.
