Advertisement Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Hi dritz, Take a look here Capture 1 for S2 files. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Constable Posted June 30, 2013 Share #2 Posted June 30, 2013 Works fine with S2 and S. Ed
John Black Posted July 1, 2013 Share #3 Posted July 1, 2013 While Leica provides a profile for C1, the S2 is not fully supported. The files will open, but lens corrections do not work and C1 does not roll off the clipped highlights correctly (the just stop rather than graduating). I'm not a fan of Adobe's rendering (in general) and much prefer C1, but for the S2, Lightroom was the only practical choice IMO.
gdb Posted August 4, 2013 Share #4 Posted August 4, 2013 It is true that C1 has numerous drawbacks with S2 files, because the company refuses to support S cameras and S lenses (competition with Phase One lenses ?). But as far as quality of picture processing is concerned, C1 is second to none. The sharpness is excellent, and the details are wonderfully rendered. Their perspective correction system is excellent, better than LR4/5's (in my opinion). It seems that it has been "copied" in DxO. For myself, I use C1 to process my files, and then I correct colors I do not like in Photoshop. Maybe not the best workflow, but it is OK for me. Anyhow, for dritz, I would recommend downloading and test the trial version. Of course, the interface is not the same as LR, but the learning curve is quite light. Cheers Gérard
