A fun grab of the monarch caterpillars that are eating the milkweed we planted a few years ago. It is a fun family project to watch them go from eggs to butterflies!

Another macro shot. Got lucky on this one by getting the fly's eyes in focus.

Sorry, thought about this question but don't get it...

James, sorry if my comment seemed obscure. I saw your flowers growing precariously on a cliff-face and imagined the seeds, floating on the wind, and suddenly stopped in this most unlikely location to settle and germinate. This was its opportunity (hence 'Opportunist') to settle and make a life for himself where others thought better of it. Noone would have chosen to set up home there other than this opportunist. Does that help?

Thanks for this explanation! I was unsure if you meant it that way, as English is not my native tongue and I feared to oversea a well known phrase.

Many volcanic islands built up their flora from seeds on the wind or floating by sea from other continents. It is amazing what nature can achieve by chance. Sorry if I caused you some confusion.

Heritage Ranch in Red Deer has some interesting paths/walkways along the river, This is the staircase to get back up the parking lot, and this is from about half way up them.

It always helps to catch my breath if I have a camera in hand...
