Thanks for the vapor trail, Henry, and also for your kind message asking about me. I apologise for the radio silence; work has unrelentlessly come in the way of my hobbies the last several weeks, which is most annoying. I'll try to follow the thread better and post as time permits.

Btw, I'm very happy to see that the thread continues to be the no. 1 hot forum topic in the LUF emails :) And that there are several new active thread participants. Film rules.

Jeff maybe so but I'm a fighter and I will continue to fight on. This morning I also shot the first 6 frames of 120 Portra with a yellow/orange filter on. No big deal I wanted to shoot it in B&W anyway.

Later

Neil

Here a forgotten yellow  filter on  color negative film Fuji Provia 100... :-)

Yep, I should have added this thought to my post....you are eternally resilient, motivated and fearless.....great qualities regardless the medium.

Yes Henry, Italy is another favourite of ours, we loved the week we had exploring in Puglia, wonderful time.

And yes, life is good alright.

And I'll add, he has broad shoulders which deflect the ribbing we all seem to direct his way.

And there would be few that haven't opened the rear (or bottom) of a camera mid-roll, it's the way we learn things.

Good on ya Neil, keep at it, there will be more mistakes, believe me, but you'll overcome.

m6 2/35IV portra 400

It was quite dark and the film didn't show any density . So i was astonished about the result.

Only the grain was heavy therefore.

The first roll I 'shot' with my M6, I didn't feed the film far enough into the spindle.  I shot 36 frames against the loading portion of the roll until  I realized the rewinding lever wasn't  moving as I advanced the film. ;)

Good practice, LOL.

At least you could then load it properly, and carry on.

I did a roll on an F2 at a wedding once, realised my misfortune when I got to about 40 on the film counter, and swore, audibly, much to the brides surprise.

Did them all again, so no drama, but I felt a complete pillock.

I'd venture very few haven't had blunders like this.
